One of the most interesting wine regions in France is Anjou, located in the Loire Valley. Along with the wines produced further east in Touraine, Anjou-Saumur makes what is collectively known as the "Middle Loire” wines. The wines that have been catching people’s attention are the organic wines from this region. French organic wines are considered as the most innovative, interesting and personalized products around.
The most well known organic wines from the Anjou region are from Domaine de la Bergerie. A French brand that has been growing grapes for 7 generations now. Their expertise lies in Chenin Blanc and Cabernet grapes. However you will find also the Cabernet Franc in this region. They chose to explore all the facets of these varietals. The white wines made from the Chenin Blanc grapes, have a specific taste of almonds and pear.
